Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy for urinary incontinence with high impact activity

Return to exercise

You’ve been cleared to exercise at your 6-week appointment. Now what? Did you know that there are gentle exercises you can do shortly after delivery? Or that once you are cleared, you should not immediately go back to your pre-pregnancy intensity of exercise? Your pelvic floor and core muscles take 4-6 months to fully recover from childbirth, so a gradual return to exercise is important.

One of our specialities is helping Moms return to exercise postpartum. Whether you are looking to get back to running, cycling, strength, training, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates—you name it, we can help! Our approach starts with gently reconnecting the core and pelvic floor early postpartum and slowly progressing to more challenging exercises. Our Return to Exercise Programs are specific to your sport/activity. Our program will allow you to:

  • Flow through Yoga class without pain

  • Run without leaking

  • Participate in a HIIT workout without pelvic heaviness

  • Activate your core properly on a Pilates reformer

  • And so much more!
